The Lilies, A. Mickiewicz, I. Rusek, The Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute

The format I used during the stage reading can be called a live radio play or concert. On the stage there were actors with microphones and microports, a drummer (Leszek Lorent, PhD, DSc, an academic teacher at the Chopin University of Music), composer Grzegorz Łapiński, and sound designer Agnieszka Szczepańczyk.

While the actors were reading, the sound designer created sound atmospheres (church, forest, etc.). The drummer also created sound worlds using some original and self-made instruments. The actors were not doing any illustrating movements – almost all meanings were conveyed by means of the sounds played. The composer used a sampler and created a Doppler effect. All these efforts resulted in a very stimulating and evocative world based on sounds. Sound designers are usually hidden, and it was interesting to show what their work is about.

An additional element were videos created by Justyna Stoszek.
