Miss S. is a radio play commemorating the tragic political events that took place in Poland on December 13, 1981.
Characters experience a sudden change in reality. In the morning, a wave of protesters march in front of the building where the children live, there are fights with the police, the military intervenes, and tanks appear. The world has become dangerous.
We present the martial law, the Solidarity movement, and other facts in such a way as to communicate with children and youth on the emotional level. I hope that such an approach will allow them to understand our country’s difficult past.
The radio play uses excerpts from archival recordings of the strikes of 1981.
Miss S. is a radio play for children, written by Iwona Rusek and produced for the Polish Radio as part of the”Closer to History” series.
